A smuggler is detained at Heathrow airport carrying a bank account number and a human wisdom tooth. The investigation leads to a fast-food restaurant that produces in vitro meat in a factory on-site. We currently view synthetic meat as something repulsive and alien, yet the potential environmental benefits it provides will undoubtedly drive the need and acceptance of this technology. ‘Operation Easy Burger’ proposes a possible consequence of the industrialisation of in vitro meat production presented as a piece of detective fiction.
